Get Help During a Dental Emergency

Accidents happen, but knowing what to do when one occurs can mean the difference between saving a tooth or losing one. Emergency dental care is our priority, with a team of dentists and appointment flexibility, you will get the care you need. Our office hours allow us to attend to emergency patients on the same day as their dental emergency.

Dental emergencies are more common than you think. When one does occur and there is tooth pain, swelling, or bleeding in the mouth, it is very important to contact us as soon as possible.

What to Expect on Your Emergency Dental Visit

A dental emergency or trauma can happen just about anytime. Whether accident related or sudden tooth/mouth swelling or pain; if urgent dental care is required, emergency treatment can help alleviate dental pain, possibly prevent an infection and/or save a tooth.

For an emergency dental appointment, we will take necessary x-rays of the concerned area and conduct an examination. We will determine the best course of treatment for you, our emergency dentists will perform the necessary dental care or schedule another appointment for your treatment as soon as possible. Your dentist will also prescribe you antibiotics and pain medicine as needed to alleviate your dental pain.

Secure Emergency Dental Care

At the time of a trauma, there are measures you can take to help alleviate your pain and minimize the damage before receiving the necessary urgent care. After immediately calling our office, here’s what you can do:

  • Knocked-out permanent teeth. Keep the area as moist as you can, and try placing the tooth back in the socket without touching the root. Otherwise, place it between cheek and gums- with milk if possible- to help preserve it.
  • Cracked teeth. Rinse your mouth with warm water immediately to clean the area. Put a cold compress on the outside of your cheek to minimize swelling.
  • Bitten tongue or lip. Rinse your mouth with water to clean the area and apply a cold compress.
  • Toothaches. Clean your mouth with warm water and gently use dental floss to remove food caught between teeth.
  • Objects stuck in mouth. Try removing gently with floss. Do not use sharp or pointed objects.

Dr loung is very professional, gentle and caring when providing dental care. I had fractured my rt bottom molar, I thought I needed the tooth pulled. He saved my tooth, made sure during the procedure I was pain free. I highly recommend Dr Loung for dental care.
